This study investigated the number of mosquito larvae and mosquito species in rural and urban areas in Kanthararom district, Sisaket. We identified mosquito larvae up to species level, counted them and compared the number of mosquito larvae and mosquito species between rural and urban areas. From the study, we found Aedes segypti, Ae. albopictus and Culex spp. in the urban area. On the other hand, we found Aedes segypti, Ae. albopictus, Culex spp. and Anopheles spp. in the rural area. There were higher numbers of Ae. albopictus larvae in the rural area than in the urban area. The number of Ae. aegypti and Culex spp. larvae in rural area did not differed from urban areas. Anopheles larvaewere foundonly in the rural area.
